At Llandaff Fields, one of Cardiff’s most well-liked public parks, eight brand-new padel courts are scheduled to debut. There will now be a designated area in the center of the city for the sport, which has experienced a rise in popularity around the UK. Because the courts are covered by canopies, play is possible in all weather and is accessible all year round.
Construction is almost finished in time for the August debut.
The courts’ designs were initially unveiled by Cardiff Council in January 2023, and work has been going on for a few months. The facility is almost ready, and Friday, August 29 is the formal opening date. The current tennis courts have already been improved as part of a larger project to update Llandaff Fields’ sports facilities, which also includes the new courts.
Cardiff is introduced to the sport by Smash Padel.
The new site’s management business, Smash Padel, is getting ready to welcome visitors. Smash Cardiff’s center manager, Jessii Wood, was excited about the opening and acknowledged the work required to see the project through to fruition. She underlined the club’s goal of encouraging diversity and aiding local grassroots growth.
